Day 1

All I did for the beginning of the day is take various items from various barrels and crates for selling at the local vendor. The way the armor and weapons looked in the transaction window confused me however so I didn't buy any of it.

I finally got the mission about freeing slaves and bringing down the smugglers. I found the cave but was unable to beat the psycho mage who kept throwing fireballs at me. So I need to go buy some armor and a new weapon.

Once I had done that I went back to the cave and beat both the mage and the other smuggler hurling throwing stars at me.

One note: while fighting this mage I decided to hide behind the gate holding the slaves hoping the mage would keep firing at me, eventually running out of magic power. Instead he got stuck in the gate and I couldn't get him out. Being the power user I am I brought up the game console with tilde (~) and typed in ra to send him back from whence he came. Seems like a rather careless bug to me. Make me wonder what less advanced players would do in that situation.

I then collected all the loot and sold it the local store. I then decided to go out around the town and level a little by killing some small creatures. I then found the body of the tax collector I had been hearing so much about. Before reporting it I continued to look around.

Suddenly I heard a blood-curdling scream. Looks like some mage had cast the wrong spell and killed himself in a comedic calamity. Sucks for him, new "lightning sword" for me. Heh.

After reporting the body of the tax collector and being honest about the money on it I was told I'd get a generous reward for finding the killer. So I talk to the lady in the tower who suggests finding someone else.

Welcome, windbad

I have other projects I could be doing. I haven't even played Morrowind in over a year. But for some reason I an irrational drive to dig back out and start it up again.

From the last time I played I know I'll have to take notes and write what I do where I go and who I talk to just to keep track of it all anyway. So why not turn that into a blog?

It'd be nice if there was an in-game book you could write in as a log. Or even annotate different missions. But as far as I know there is not. Haven't looked that hard for a mod to do that however.

In any case this blog will be my progress with morrowind as I progress through. The title? I just made that up when I went to create this blog. I though it fit, or something. I do tend to ramble on sometimes.

I decided to pick something and go and much purely that way as I possibly could. So I picked an Imperial night born under the constellation of the warrior. Too late to change now, that's what I picked and I'm sticking with it. For all I know this will be the hardest possible way to play the game. Or the easiest. I really won't know until I start playing.

As I submit entries for this blog I'll be playing Morrowind in windowed mode, 800 x 600. This allows for easy alt-tabbing albeit at a sacrafice to depth and immersion into the game. Anyway on with the game.
